We believe a great place to work should be a green place to work, and we’ve built sustainability and environmental responsibility into every detail of The Tangent’s design.

Through initiatives like sustainable energy sources, we’re reducing our impact on the environment and helping to keep running costs low for our tenants. It’s a win-win thing, and we’re proud to be doing it.

The Tangent has successfully achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ accreditation – a nationally recognised environmental assessment of building management, health and wellbeing, energy, transport, water, materials, waste, land-use, ecology and pollution.

Our horizontal wind turbine
A new design providing energy even in light winds, and reducing the visual pollution of larger turbines.

Photo-voltaic solar panels
Designed to produce energy even on cloudy days, providing a continuous supply to the building.

Rain water harvesting system
Giving the building a constant source of clean water, with minimal maintenance costs.

Underfloor heating
With its temperature management facility, this offers a more efficient way of heating the building.

Gas absorption heat pump
A green way of heating and cooling the building, pumping straight into the building’s underfloor heating.

Metered utility services
These help tenants monitor and control their energy use, reducing waste and cost.

Digital displays
We’ve used digital signage throughout the building, reducing the need to reprint on paper and plastic.

Marketing materials
All of our marketing materials are printed on Mohawk paper made from sustainable sourced and with the paper production powered by wind turbines.
